Battle of the BooksBegins December 2016
Battle of the Books is an exciting type of reading club that uses a game show format to challenge teams’ knowledge of eight pre-selected books from a variety of authors and genres. Teams of students are asked questions based on the characters, plots, themes, and settings of the books. Teams consist of four students from Grade 5 to 8. Students in each team are responsible for reading the books. Points are scored by correctly identifying the titles and authors of the books. B.O.B. consists of three types of tournaments:
School-based Tournaments January - March 1, 2017 Teams of up to 4 students from St. Peter compete against each other. Zone Tournaments March 2 @ St. Gregory 4:00 - 4:45 p.m. March 6 @ St. Francis 4:00 - 4:45 p.m. Two teams from each B.O.B. school compete against each other. We belong to the North Zone. City Finals Tournament: March 9 @ Miller 1:15 - 2:30 p.m. Two teams from each of the 23 participating schools face off against each other at Miller Catholic High School. |
